Arrests

On Tuesday, Mitchell Deters, 54, of Wellsburg, was arrested for operating while intoxicated, second offense. He posted bond and was released.

On Tuesday, Eloy Tarango, 33, of Postville, was arrested by Chickasaw County authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging him with failure to appear. He was given a promise to appear and then released to Marshall County authorities on their warrant.

On July 24, Brice Turner, 30, of Conrad, was arrested in Conrad on a Marshall County warrant charging him with failure to appear. He was released to Marshall County authorities.

On July 24, Steven Thome, 42, of Stacyville, was arrested by Clear Lake Police Department on a Grundy County warrant charging him with failure to provide fingerprints for a theft, fifth degree charge. He was fingerprinted and then released.

On July 21, Quentin Dye, 42, of Faribault, Minn., was arrested on Highway 20 and charged with operating while intoxicated, second offense; illegal possession of prescription drugs and possession of a dangerous weapon. He is being held in lieu of bond.

On July 20, Tyler Meyer, 24, of Mason City, was arrested on Highway 20 and charged with operating while intoxicated. He posted bond and was released.

On July 20, Alex Deike, 20, of Wellsburg, was arrested in Wellsburg, on a Bremer County warrant charging him with manufacturing methamphetamine. He was released to Bremer County authorities.

On July 18, David Phetnongphay, 21, of Chaska, Minn., was arrested on Highway 20 and charged with possession of marijuana. He posted bond and was released.

Accidents

On July 23, a car driven by Terry Smith, 27, of Parkersburg, was eastbound on 110th Street east of X Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the traveled portion of the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage too the Smith car was estimated at $4,000.

On July 21, a car driven by Leroy Stewart, 60, of Liscomb, was southbound on Highway 14 south of 270th Street when, due to the driver falling asleep, the vehicle drifted across the center line and entered the east ditch, went airborne into the creek and hit the opposite ban. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Stewart car was estimated at $3,000.

On July 16, a vehicle driven by Jason Haddeman, 31, of Holland, was eastbound on D-35 east of T-55 when the driver crossed the center line, entered the north ditch, hit a culvert driveway and then hit a guide wire to a utility pole. No injuries were reported. Haddeman was cited for failure to maintain control, driving while license was revoked and possession of drug paraphernalia.

July 26

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/cancelled en route to the 10 block of North Eighth Avenue and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1901 S. 4th Ave., 134 E. Main St., 1203 Fremont St., 505 Sharon Ave., 1601 S. 2nd St. and the 700 block of Washington Street.

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to seven medical assists with the EMS crew to: East Olive Street, 1200 E. Olive St., 107 W. Grant St., 206 Nicholas Drive, 1645 N. 21st St., 204 N. 7th St. and 2002 E. Olive St.

Saturday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a false alarm at 304 N. 1st Ave., an outside rubbish fire at 528 N. 3rd St., and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 806 S. 6th St., 50 LaFrentz Drive, 204 N. 21st St., 209 W. Madison St. and 2302 Edgebrook Drive

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 134 E. Main St., 104 W. Webster St., 411 N. 1st Ave. and 5 S. 7th St.

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an unintentional transmission of alarm at 1301 Summit St.

Monday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a smoke detector activation/no fire to 1301 Summit St. and seven medical assists with the EMS crew to: 300 block of Madison Street, 208 N. 11th Ave., 401 N. Center St., 306 Bromley St., 202 N. 2nd Ave., South 18th Avenue and 1108 Iowa Ave.

Tuesday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a heat detector activation due to a malfunction at 1301 Summit St. and nine medical assists with the EMS crew to: 13 E. Iowa Ave., 1108 W. Iowa Ave., 907 S. Center St., 2606 Fremont St., 202 S. 9th St., 109 Byron St., 101 W. Iowa Ave., 202 N. 2nd Ave. and 2512 S. 8th St.

Wednesday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an outside rubbish fire at 305 S. 3rd St. and two medical assists with the EMS crew to: 419 N. 4th Ave., and 211 W. Ingledue St.

Incidents

On Tuesday, Kelsey Cavan, 111 S. 1st St., reported damage to a door at her residence in what appeared to be an attempted burglary. Estimated value of damage was $250.

On Sunday, Scott Thomas Imsland,404 N. Center St. Apt. #3, reported the theft of a Trek Wahoo bicycle while at 22 N. 1st Ave., valued at $599.19.

Arrests

On Tuesday, Mary Kathryn Goad, 401 Sharon Ave., was arrested for simple domestic assault.

On Wednesday, Juan Ramos Collazo, 104 N. Fourth Ave., was arrested for serious assault.

On Wednesday, Jason David Williams, 405 W. Church St. #5, was arrested for second-degree burglary.

Accidents

On Tuesday, pickup driven by Wade Alan Dooley, of Albion, was southbound on Highway 14 at the intersection with Iowa Avenue when it collided with the rear of a car driven by Alison Marie Vis, of Le Grand, which had started forward on a green light. Vis received possible injuries, but was not treated at the scene or transported. Dooley was cited for following too closely. Damage to the Dooley pickup was estimated at $1,500 while the Vis car received an estimated $4,500 in damage.

On Wednesday, a vehicle driven by Josefina Duffy, of Le Grand, was southbound on South Center Street in the left turning lane at the intersection with Southridge Road when, in an attempt to turn left during a time of heavy traffic, it collided with the rear passenger door and quarter panel on a car driven by Luke Patrick Nelson, of St. Anthony. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1,000 each.

Thursday

Jacob Lillibridge, 1806 Knollwood Drive, made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The probation revocation hearing remains scheduled at 11 a.m. Aug. 17. Lillibridge was released through the Department of Correctional Services and is to contact the department immediately.

Sidney Sharane Al-Hameed, of Des Moines, made an initial appearance on a pretrial violation charge. The arraignment hearing is rescheduled at 1 p.m. Aug. 7. Bond was set at $5,000 cash.

Sedrick Keahna, 614 W. Linn St, made an initial on a failure to appear for probation revocation charge. A scheduling hearing was set at 1 p.m. Aug. 7. The District Associate Court shall reschedule the probation revocation hearing as the docket permits. Bond was set at $2,000 cash.

Richard Samora, 809 W. Nevada St., made an initial appearance on a probation revocation charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. File shall be directed to the district court as docket permits. No bond was set.

Jason Williams, 405 S. Third St., made an initial appearance on burglary, second degree charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. Aug. 13. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Stephanie Marie Estrada, 311 N. Third Ave. Apt. #2, made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. Aug. 22. Estrada was released on her own recognizance.

Juan Ramos Collazo, 104 N. Seventh Ave., made an initial appearance on a serious assault charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. Aug. 22. Collazo was released on his own recognizance.

Eloy Tarano/Leopold Garcia Sanchez Rodriguez, 210 W. State St., made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a sentencing charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. No bond was allowed in this case. Tarano was placed on an Immigration & Customs Enforcement hold. The District Associate Court will set a sentencing hearing as their docket permits for the failure to appear charge. A sentencing hearing for the charges he was to appear for is set for 1 p.m. Aug. 7.

On Sunday, Jessica Gwen Buschbom, of St. Anthony, was arrested for simple assault.

On Sunday, Parnell J. Roberts, of Tama, was arrested for public intoxication.

On July 27, Marvin J. Conner II, 1312 Summit St. Apt. D, was arrested for disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

On Wednesday, July 25, Meredith Ann Doyle, of Grinnell, was arrested for theft.

On Wednesday, July 25, Kavester Rabb, of Waterloo, was arrested for failure to serve sentence.

On Tuesday, July 24, Brice Ean Turner, of Conrad, was arrested for failure to serve sentence.

On Saturday, July 21, Luis Arroyo Garcia, 2235 Highland Acres Road, was arrested for driving on the wrong side of a two-way roadway and operating while intoxicated.
