Three area softball players were named to the all-Iowa Star Conference's elite team as voted on by the league's coaches.
Senior shortstops Emily Havelka of GMG and Molly Anderson from Colo-NESCO, and North Tama junior center fielder Allison Zobel were honored with selection to the 10-player team - the first such honor for each of them.
Havelka finished second in the Iowa Star Conference with a school-record .542 batting average, adding five doubles and a league-high four triples. She also stole 11 bases for the Wolverines this summer.
Anderson had a .917 fielding percentage and batted .364 with 33 RBIs and 12 stolen bases for the Royals.
Both Havelka and Anderson were first-team all-South Division last season.
Zobel hit .477 with seven doubles and 12 RBIs for the Redhawks, whose statistics on quikstatsiowa.com had not yet been finalized.
