Grandparents are: Jon and Deb Reuter, of Marshalltown, and Marv and Shirley Goble, of Mesa, Ariz. Great grandparents are: Bonnie and Gus Pappas, of Marshalltown, and Evelyn Hellweg, of Camanche.

Jeremy and Amanda Rucker, of Marshalltown, are the parents of a son, Maxson James Rucker, born Aug. 7 at 3:13 a.m. at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center weighing 8 pounds, 1 ounce and measuring 21 inches in length. Welcoming Maxson home is big sister Maylee Aryn, age 2. Grandparents are: Jerry and Linda Thiessen, of Toledo, and Dick and DeLynn Rucker, of Lake Havasu, Ariz. Great grandparents are: Edna Neville, of Toledo, and James Rucker, of Panora.

Megan and Chris Greenwood, of Marshalltown, are the parents of a son, Lane, born Aug. 11, at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames, weighing 9 pounds .5 ounces and measuring 20.5 inches long. He joins big sisters Aubree and Gracie. Grandparents are Tracy and Lori Wildman, of Marshalltown, and Bill and Darlene Greenwood, of Winthrop.

Brittney and Jared Gould, of Liscomb, are the parents of a daughter, Clara Jayden Gould, born at 4 p.m. Aug. 6 weighing 8 pounds 11 ounces and measuring 20 1/2 inches long. She is welcomed home by big brother Wyatt Jay, 4. Grandparents are Dale and Becky Zink, of Conrad, Dennie Gould, of Liscomb, and Jeff and Sally Sawyer, of Marshalltown. Terrance Hill, 513 N. 12th Ave., made an initial appearance on a extradition request from Georgia. Hill declined the use of counsel. The extradition hearing is set for 9 a.m. on Aug. 20. Bond is set at $25,000 cash only. Hill indicated he wished to waive extradition.

Baloo Alain Garcia-Guevara, 409 N. 13th Ave., made an initial appearance on a no registration charge. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on Sept. 18.

Cindy Ketelsen, of Collins, made an initial appearance on a operating while intoxicated/first offense charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 5. Ketelsen was released on her own recognizance. The court ordered that she obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days.

Wol Reec Wol, 308 E. Boone St., made an initial appearance on a open container charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due immediately.

Kelsey Rose McHenry, 1706 Fremont St., made an initial appearance on a failure to maintain control charge. She pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on Sept. 18.

Jacob Paul, 504 N. 1st St., made an initial appearance on a driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended charge, an operation without registration charge and a no insurance charge. He pleaded guilty to all charges. On the driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended charge the fine was $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due immediately. The fine on the operation without registration charge was $50 with a $17.50 surcharge, a $5 county enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $32.50, due immediately. On the no insurance charge the fine was $250 with a $87.50 surcharge, a $5 county enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $402.50, due immediately.

Michael Allen Glenn, 506 S. 5th St., made an initial appearance on a dogs at large charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $25 with a $8.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $93.75, due immediately.

Casey Thurston, of Garwin, made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge, a driving under suspension charge and a improper registration plate lamp charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 5. Thurston was released on his own recognizance.

Brandi Stiles, 106 W. Church St., made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The probation revocation hearing is set for 3 p.m. on Sept. 17. Stiles was released on her own recognizance and ordered to report to probation officer following release.

Austin Craig, 1706 S. 7th Ave. Apt. #7, made an initial appearance on a driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $87 in court costs for a total of $424.50, due immediately. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning Sept. 14 until the debt is paid or in lieu of the fine and surcharge he may do 46 hours of community service plus pay court costs to be completed by Feb. 15, 2013.

Incidents

On Thursday, an employee with the Redemption Center, 401 E. Nevada St., reported damage to a Pepsi Cola vending machine on the outside of the building and the theft of cash. Estimated value of loss was $750.

Arrests

On Wednesday, Raymundo Flores, 502 N. 12th Ave. Apt. #11, was arrested for driving while barred.

On Wednesday, Antonio Villa, 7 S. 7th Ave., was arrested for possession of a Schedule I controlled substance/marijuana.

On May 23, Antonio Villa, 7 S. 7th Ave., was arrested for serious assault.
