Monte Goettsch, 67, of Hollister passed away Tuesday, August 21 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home, Branson, Mo.
Monte Joe Goettsch was born on August 12, 1945 in the Evangelical Hospital in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was the son of Gilman & Martha (Koch) Goettsch. He grew up in Iowa and graduated from Conrad High School there.
Monte moved from Garwin, Iowa in 1995. He married Sherri Luethje on April 3, 1998 in Eureka Springs, AR.
Monte worked as a delivery driver for O'Reilly automotive parts store and operated his own lawn care service. He was a member of the Tri-Lakes Moose Lodge in Ridgedale and had belonged there for 17 years. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for 46 years.
Monte was preceded in death by his parents and an infant grandson, Stephen Kyle Goettsch.
He is survived by his wife, Sherri Goettsch of Hollister, children, Steve Goettsch and wife Christina of Van Alstyne, TX; Wendy Shetter and husband Dan of McKinney, TX; Shay Evans and husband Kevin of Louisville, KY; sister, Gilda Specht and husband Don of Brush, CO; brothers, Gary Goettsch and wife Delores of Brooklyn, IA and Joel Goettsch and wife Kathy of New Virginia, IA and eight grandchildren.
