Ignacio Bello scored two goals and added one assist for the Marshalltown Community College soccer as the Tigers remained unbeaten with a 6-2 win over North Iowa Area Community College on Saturday.
Taylor McBurney also scored twice for the Tigers, who scored four goals in the second half after leading 2-1 at halftime.
Bello made it 1-0 Tigers in the 11th minute with his first goal of the match off a nice assist from Bruno Liozzi. NIACC (0-5, 0-2) tied it one minute later, but the Tigers went into halftime with a one-goal lead following McBurney's first goal of the match.
Bello made it 3-1 Tigers in the 50th minute with another tally, and then MCC pushed the advantage to three goals following Roberto Velazquez's goal in the 61st minute. Bello assisted on the play as MCC led 4-1.
NIACC's Leo Driscoll closed the gap to two in the 62nd minute, but MCC put the match away three minutes later as McBurney made it 5-2. The Tigers got an insurance goal from Kevin Guerrero in the 87th minute.
Ralph Dopuo and Javier Lopez Mochan also had assists for the Tigers in the win. MCC is now 2-0 in ICCAC play and 4-0-1 overall.
Juan Castrejon earned the win in goal for Marshalltown, which returns to action with Tuesday's road trip to Iowa Western.
