On Friday, a two-seater ATV driven by Derick Gaylord Bear, 312 N. 8th Ave., was traveling in the grassy area north of Marion Street with two people on the front seat and two standing up in the cargo area when it hit the curb on the north side of the road as it crossed over the driveway at the start of the 1000 block of Marion Street ejecting one of the rear passengers off. The passenger grabbed the back of the ATV and was dragged until he let go. Passenger Mario Antonio Ortega, 308 N. 11th Ave., was transported to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center with head injuries.
On Friday, a motorcycle driven by Travis Lee Hinkle, 301 N. 14th Ave., was eastbound in the 1400 block of East Anson Street traveling at excessive speed when Hinkle laid down his motorcycle, struck the curb and traveled about 60 feet. Hinkle was injured, but not treated at the scene or transported. Hinkle was cited for failure to have a valid driver's license, no insurance and failure to maintain control. Damage to the Hinkle motorcycle was estimated at $5,000.
On Friday, a vehicle driven by Taryn Joy Hollatz, of Garwin, was westbound on Anson Street approaching the South 12th Avenue intersection, stopped at the stop sign and then proceeded into the intersection where it collided with a car driven by Gyi Maung, 401 E. Southridge Rd., which was traveling north on 12th Avenue. No injuries were reported. Hollatz was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway. Damage to the Hollatz vehicle was estimated at $800 while the Maung car received an estimated $4,000 in damage.

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a building fire at 504 W. Church St., and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 2907 S. 6th St., the 900 block of Marion Street and 201 N. 2nd Ave.
The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an extrication of victims from a vehicle at 1400 E. Anson St., a dispatched/cancelled en route to 503 E. Linn St., a outside rubbish fire at 800 Bromley St., and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 402 N. 10th Ave., 1108 Iowa Ave. West, and 402 N. 10th Ave.
The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an extrication of victims from vehicle at 1300 Sanford Ave., and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1911 S. 3rd Ave. Place, 2907 S. 6th St., 1211 W. State St., and 202 N. 2nd Ave.
The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an outside rubbish fire at 101 N. 10th Ave., a false alarm at 112 College Dr., and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1108 Iowa Ave. West, 1910 Edgebrook Dr., 1212 W. Linn St., 207 N. 4th Ave., and the 1400 block of Woodbury Street.
The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a medical assist with the EMS crew to 603 Fremont St.
