Lucinda "Cindy" Joan Prusha, 58, of Marshalltown, died Sunday, September 2, 2012, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. There will not be a visitation. Cindy was born July 30, 1954, the daughter of Don and Marjorie (Arment) Ross. She was raised and educated in Marshalltown and made this community her life-long home. Lucinda was united in marriage to David Prusha on September 28, 1974, in Liscomb, Iowa. Following their marriage they made their home in Marshalltown. Throughout her lifetime Cindy cared for others. She worked at the Iowa Veterans Home during her high school years and most recently worked at the Villa del Sol where she cared for many residents. Cindy enjoyed listening to music, dancing and watching birds and squirrels. Cindy's favorite groups were Lynyrd Skynyrd and George Thorogood.
Cindy is survived by her husband David Prusha of Marshalltown, her children: Angela Kay (Wyatt) Manship and Missy Prusha both of Marshalltown, her grandchildren: Kohl Justice and Paige Liberty, her parents Don and Marjorie Ross, her sister Lyn (Phil) Pickett of Marshalltown, her brother Donnie Ross of Grinnell and her sister Pam (Mel) Brown of Marshalltown, her nephews: PJ (Shannon) Pickett of Melbourne, Greg (Sara) Pickett of State Center and Cody (Amber) Pickett of Gilman, her great nieces and nephew: ShayeLyn, Xander, Madison and Maleah, her sisters and brothers-in-law: Wayne (Vicky) Prusha of Arkansas, Carol Maskiell of Rhode Island, Clay (Miriam) Prusha of Marshalltown and Gene (Cindy) Prusha of Grand Rapids, Michigan and her peekapoo Tobias "Tobi."
Cindy was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law Eugene and Lola Prusha, her grandparents Glenn and Lola Arment, her brothers-in-law, Brad Prusha and Eugene Prusha, Jr.
