LATIMER - The GMG volleyball team was dropped in three sets by CAL in Tuesday's Iowa Star Conference clash, falling 26-24, 25-22, 25-18.
Leading GMG was Olivia Barritt and Caitlin Appelgate with three kills apiece. Sara Hinson added two kills, while both Mikaella Koster and Mackenzie Burt had four assists.
Peyton Mannan notched four service aces to lead the Wolverines in the loss to CAL (3-8, 1-1). GMG hosts Clarksville in league play tonight.
Fourth-rated Panthers top North Tama
TRIPOLI - Class 1A No. 4 Tripoli swept North Tama, 25-10, 25-9, 25-13, in Tuesday's Iowa Star volleyball match.
North Tama was led by Shannon Stuart's four kills, and Allie Zobel had three. Aryn Isenhower totaled 11 assists.
Molly Dvorak, Anna Kvidera and Josie Youel led the Redhawks (8-7, 2-1) with two blocks apiece, while Isenhower went 6-for-6 to lead at the service line.
Courtney Anderson and Bailey Kirchhoff had 11 kills apiece to lead Tripoli (10-2, 2-0) to victory. The Panthers had 17 service aces.
North Tama hosts 1A No. 3 Janesville (7-3, 2-0) tonight in conference action.
