New Arrivals

Travis and Stephanie Case, of Gladbrook, are the parents of a son, Ezra Steven Case, born Aug. 22 weighing 8 pounds 11 ounces and measuring 22 inches long. He is welcomed home by big brother Owen. Grandparents are Steve and Alma Donaldson, of Eldora; Robin and Tim Runge, of Conrad; and Tim and Crystal Case, of Beaman.

Lynette Borel and Luis Anguiano, of Marshalltown, are the parents of a son, Mateo Eli Anguiano, born at 3:45 p.m. Aug. 15 at MMSC. Mateo joins sister Isabel Anguiano and brother Joseph Anguiano.

Josh and Myra (Appelgate) Anderson, of Boone, are the parents of a daughter, Avery Quinn, born at 1:10 p.m. Aug. 29 at Boone County Hospital weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces and measuring 20 inches long. Grandparents are Mark and Shelly Appelgate, of Marshalltown, and Allen Anderson, of Oskaloosa.

Kendra Coon and Ryan Gustin, of Marshalltown, are the parents of a son, Bradyn Richard Gustin, born at 9:09 a.m. Aug. 24 at MMSC weighing 6 pounds 15 ounces. Grandparents are Lisa and Rick Cowan and Judy and Rick Gustin.

Amanda and Joey Aneweer, of Marshalltown, are the parents of a daughter, Alina Irene Aneweer, born at 1:58 p.m. Sept. 7 at MMSC. Alina joins siblings, Taylor Aneweer, 12, Skyler Aneweer, 10, Logen Aneweer, 5, Grady Shipley, 4, Trinity Aneweer, 2 1/2. Grandparents are Tom and Cindy Aneweer, of Round Rock, Texas; Cindy Shipley, of Marshalltown; and Donald Shipley, of Clemons.

Lissa Duff and Joel Alvarez, of Marshalltown, are the parents of a daughter, Mia Isabella Alvarez, born at 4:57 p.m. Aug. 7 at MMSC. Grandparents are Mario and Josefina Alvarez and Jim and Lee Duff. Great-grandparents are Jack and Hoke Farr.

Arrests

On Friday, Melissa Weekley, age 39, of Holland, was arrested on HIghway 14 near Highway 20 and charged with driving while license is barred. She was released on promise to appear.

On Thursday, Timothy Wendel, age 21, of Des Moines, was arrested by Marshall County authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging him with failure to appear. He is being held in lieu of bond.

On Sept. 9, Monte McMaster, age 50, of North Platte, Neb., was arrested on Highway 20 and charged with operating while intoxicated, first offense. He was released on a promise to appear.

On Sept. 8, Joshua Bookout, age 22, of Tomball, Texas, was arrested on Highway 20 and charged with operating while intoxicated, first offense. He was released on promise to appear.

On Sept. 4, Cody Kiewiet, age 20, of Reinbeck, was arrested in Reinbeck on a Marshall County warrant charging him with failure to appear. He posted bond and was released.

Accidents

On Thursday, a vehicle driven by Barry Thede, age 33, of Reinbeck, was exiting a private driveway in Reinbeck when it collided with a legally parked car owned by William Stewart, of Waterloo. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Thede vehicle was estimated at $1,500 while the Stewart car received an estimated $700 in damage.

On Tuesday, a vehicle driven by Clement Ungs, age 56, of Reinbeck, was westbound on Highway 175 when it struck a deer that entered the traveled portion of the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Ungs vehicle was estimated at $1,500.

On Sept. 7, a vehicle driven by Shannon Groh, age 25, of Conrad, had turned onto Main Street in Conrad heading south when the steering wheel locked and it collided with a legally parked car owned by Hertz Vehicles LLC, of Des Moines. No injuries were reported. Groh was cited for driving while license was suspended and operation without current registration. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $2,000 each.

On Sept. 6, a vehicle driven by Robert Larson, age 45, of Overland Park, Kan., was eastbound on Highway 20 when it struck a deer that entered the traveled portion of the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Larson vehicle was estimated at $3,000.

On Sept. 2, a vehicle driven by Zachary Meester, age 19, of Holland, was northbound on L Avenue south of 170th Street when it struck a deer that entered the roadway, swerved to the right and struck a cement bridge abutment. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Meester vehicle was estimated at $2,000.

On Aug. 29, a car driven by John Saathoff, age 34, of Allison, was southbound on T-55 south of 250th Street when the right front tire blew causing the car to enter the west ditch where it came to rest. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Saathoff car was estimated at $3,700.
