Olive Aman, 95, of Marshalltown, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at the Grandview Heights where she has resided since 2007. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at the funeral home. Born Olive Wolski on Dec. 15, 1916, in Valley City, North Dakota, she was the daughter of Herman Adolph and Louise Aletha (Barstad) Wolski. She attended school in Sweet Water, N. D.
She was united in marriage to Harvey Harrison Aman on Sept. 3, 1935. They couple raised their family in many different communities before settling in Marshalltown in 1964. Mrs. Aman was a member of the Elim Lutheran Church, Marshalltown Senior Citizens (she taught an exercise class there three days a week as well as did the monthly bulletin board) and was a Patient/Family advocate for the Southridge Nursing and Rehab Center. She enjoyed music, painting, art, flowers, gardening and was always a gracious host and made sure everyone had something to eat.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Monte Aman (Shane Spafford), of Marshalltown, Gerald (Diane) Aman, of Finlayson, Minn., LaDonna Lee, of Carrington, N.D., JoAnne (William) Bissell, of Little Rock, Ark., and ElDora (Kenneth) Perry, of Marshalltown, as well as 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren and her brother, Harvey Wolski, of Beach, N.D.
In death, Olive rejoined her beloved Harvey, her son Jon who died Oct. 19, 2008, grandsons Rick Perry, Steven Lee, Jon Dean Bissell and granddaughter Linda Lee, son-in-law Curtis Lee, daughter-in-law Jane Aman and brother Arnold Wolski.
