Funeral services for LaVern DuToit, 85, of Sarasota, Florida, formerly of Marshalltown, were held on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Shomo officiating.
He was laid to rest in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Gene Sebesta, Bob Dvorsky, Dennis Wiese, Kent Wiese, Dan Eastman and Eric DuToit. Honorary Pallbearers were Dale Wedgewood, Bob Anderson, Paul Illum, Jerry Waltermeyer, Phillip Filloon and Mike Keen.
Groups from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Harry C. Harter Post # 839, American Legion Frank Lewis Glick Post #46, Cecil's Cafe, Moose Women and Area Bowling Leagues were in attendance.
The Mitchell Family Funeral Home was entrusted with his arrangements.
