TAMA - Joan Marie Smith, 72, of Tama, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012 at Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. A Memorial Graveside Service will be held Monday, Sept. 24 at 11 a.m. at the Grandview Cemetery in rural Tama with the Rev. Dr. Kim Wilson officiating. A gathering will follow at the Tama American Legion.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon, of Tama; four children, Teri (Dave) Chelsvig, of Cumming, Vicki (Robert ) Lee, of Marshalltown, Camron (Jacque) Smith, of Rockford, and Diana (Brett Houghton) Brush, of Marshalltown; two step-children, Jean Cole, of Norwoodville, and Marvin Ritts, of Manson; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry (Judy) Curson, of Green Mountain; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
