Robert John Armentrout, 82, of Bull Shoals, AR passed away Friday, October 19, 2012 at Good Samaritan Home in Mountain Home, AR. He was born November 13, 1929 at Botna, IA to the late Robert and Rosa Armentrout. Robert grew up in the Botna/Irwin, IA area, graduating from the Irwin Consolidated High School in 1948. He then served in the US Navy from 1948 to 1952. In 1950, he was united in marriage to June Ecklin of Atlantic, IA. He graduated from Dana College in Blair, NE. in 1956. He worked for the Nebraska Farmer of Lincoln, NE for several years. In 1964, he and his wife purchased Endicott Printing Co. in Marshalltown, IA. After several years the name was changed to PrintCo. They retired in 1994 after 30 years in business. In 1995. they moved back to rural Irwin, IA where they lived until 2002. At this time they moved to Bull Shoals, AR, enjoying the moderate climate and beautiful scenery.
Robert was a member of the Masonic Lodge, American Legion, VFW, and several other Service Clubs.
He is survived by his wife of 61+ years, June, of Bull Shoals, AR; his daughter, Christina McKenna, and her husband, Brian, of Des Moines, IA; cousins, other family members, and friends. He was devoted to his family, including several dogs, who also deserve mention.
