Several critically injured when vehicle plunges into Linn Creek

Several people suffered life-threatening injuries when a Chevy Blazer plunged into Linn Creek early this morning.

The Marshalltown Police Department is reporting that six passengers were in the vehicle when it was eastbound on East State Street at about 2 a.m. this morning. The vehicle left the road way and came to rest in the creek south of East State Street.

An infant and adult male were transported by air ambulance to Iowa Methodist in Des Moines. Other passengers were treated at the scene and transported to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center.

Names have not been released at this time. The accident remains under investigation.

The MPD was assisted by the Marshalltown Fire Department, Marshalltown Area Paramedic Service, Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center, Marshalltown Engineer's Office and the Marshall County Sheriff's Office.
