Incidents

On Sunday, James Lee Morford, 102 S. 16th St., reported damage to a door and door handle on the garage and the theft of a DeWalt sawzall, two DeWalt 20 volt drills, a DeWalt sander, a DeWalt radio, a hose for a compressor, two DeWalt bags, a Honda power generator, a Poulan chainsaw, a 400 piece Sears mechanic tool set, a nine piece metric wrench set, a police scanner, a Toro snow blower and a Sears angle drill. Estimated value of loss was $3,981.

On Oct. 26, an employee with JC Penney, 2500 S. Center St., reported the theft of merchandise and cash in the amount of $934.

On Oct. 26, a person associated with Marshalltown Properties, of Iowa City, reported damage to the northwest corner of a garage and the overheard door at 312 N. 3rd St. Estimated value of damage was $1,500.

On Oct. 25, Hattie Gersema, 411 N. 2nd St., reported damage to two windows at her residence. Estimated value of damage was $800.

On Oct. 29, Edith Villalobos-Cruz, 7 S. 4th St., reported the theft of a 1995 Mitsubishi Galant parked near her residence. Estimated value of loss was $1,500.

On Oct. 29, Ashley Marie Yoemans, 9 N. 9th Ave., reported damage to a driver's side window on a 1998 Chrysler Sebring while parked at her residence and the theft of a Pioneer CD car stereo and two cell phones. Estimated value of loss was $500.

On Oct. 31, Silvestre Vargas-Gonzalez, 2306 Dubois Circle, reported the theft of cash in the amount of $500.

On Sunday, Michael Youngbear, 502 E. Main St. Apt. #4, reported the theft of a Droid Razr Maxx cell phone from 916 E. Main St. Estimated value of loss was $300.

Citations

On Oct. 19, Julie Ann Rodriguez, of Melbourne, was cited for theft fifth-degree enhanced from Hy-Vee.

On Oct. 16, Maria Ramirez, 2009 S. 4th Ave., was cited for theft fourth-degree from JC Penney.

On Oct. 16, Maria Lopez De Ramirez, 316 Thomas Dr., was cited for theft fourth-degree from JC Penney.

On Oct. 16, Antonia Cardenas, 316 Thomas Dr., was cited for theft fourth-degree from JC Penney.

On Sept. 30, Marisela Ramirez-Cardenas, 316 Thomas Dr., was cited for theft third-degree from JC Penney.

On Oct. 30, Marilyn Jean Leatherman, 6 S. 6th St., was cited for dog at large.

Arrests

On Sunday, Julie Ann Hartwig, of Melbourne, was arrested for shoplifting.

On Sunday, Jessie Lamar Newman Jr., 406 Woodbury St., was arrested for operating while intoxicated first-offense.

On Sunday, Arturo Miranda, 807 Union St., was arrested for driving while revoked first-offense.

On Sunday, Javier Guadalupe Perales, of Aurora, Ill., was arrested for public intoxication.

On Sunday, Joshua David Goemaat, of Hamilton, was arrested for theft fifth-degree.

On Saturday, Francisco Andres Estrada-Perez, 1100 E. Anson St., was arrested for operating while intoxicated first-offense.

On Saturday, Anthony Petersohn Chandler, 418 N. 5th St., was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and operating while intoxicated first-offense.

On Oct. 26, Tervor Cameron Smith, 2204 Wakefield Dr., was arrested for dog at large.

On Oct. 26, Zane Aaron Dolash, address unknown, was arrested for interference with official acts, trespass and public intoxication.

On Oct. 25, Ngor Malek Kuanj, 112 N. 3rd St. Apt. #3, was arrested for burglary second-degree, two counts of child endangerment, felony domestic abuse and interference with official acts.

On Oct. 24, Jeremy Ray Waltemeyer, 503 E. Boone St., was arrested for disorderly conduct.

On Tuesday, Joseph Gene Kinney, 606 Lincolnway, was arrested for possession of a Schedule I controlled substance.

Accidents

On Saturday, a car driven by Steven James Wallen, of Albion, was eastbound on Iowa Avenue West when a non-contact vehicle served his direction causing him to swerve to the south, entere the ditch, struck a sign post and then a parked pickup in the UAW lot rotating it counter-clockwise. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Wallen car was estimated at $2,400 while the pickup received an estimated $1,000 and the sign post owned by the City of Marshalltown an estimated $50 in damage.

On Oct. 25, a minivan driven by Tartuobo Bedell, of Des Moines, was southbound on 10th Avenue approaching Lee Street when it struck pedestrian Melba Castro Acosta, 802 E. Main St., as she walked along the curb knocking her to the ground. Castro Acosta was transported to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center and then transported to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

On Oct. 25, a car driven by Phyllis Maxine Mohr, 2661 275th St., was northbound on South Center Street approaching the intersection with Merle Hibbs Boulevard when it failed to obey a traffic control device and entered the intersection broadsiding a minivan driven by Jessica Ranea McDanel, 403 S. 5th St., which was traveling east on Merle Hibbs. McDanel was transported to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center with injuries. Mohr was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $4,000 each.

On Oct.. 31. a vehicle driven by Vanessa Lee Jongma, 3202 S. 12th St. Lot #158, was southbound on 10th Street stopped at the stop sign at the intersection West State Street when it attempted to turn left onto State Street and collided with a vehicle driven by Jana Markay Mitchem, 1402 S. 3rd Ave., which was traveling east on State Street. No injuries were reported. Jongma was cited for no insurance and failure to obey a stop sign and yield right of way. Damage to the Jongma vehicle was estimated at $500 while the Mitchem vehicle received an estimated $1,800 in damage.

On Oct. 31, a car driven by Velma Aleta Sheller, 109 S. 8th St., was eastbound on East Main Street at the intersection with First Avenue when it rolled through the stop sign and collided with a truck driven by Christopher Jon Heiden, of Nevada, which was traveling north on First Avenue. No injuries were reported. Sheller was cited for failure to obey a stop sign. Damage to the Sheller car was estimated at $2,000.

Arrests

On Sunday, James Wilson, age 58, of Grundy Center, was arrested for domestic abuse assault. He was released on promise to appear.

On Oct. 26, Megan Pryke, age 33, of Newton,, was arrested on a Jasper County warrant charging her with failure to appear. She posted bond and was released.

On Oct. 23, Amy Noffsinger, age 36, of Dike, was arrested at the intersection of 150th Street and U Avenue and charged with operating while intoxicated first-offense. She is being held in lieu of bond.
