A four-month-old boy died Saturday from injuries sustained in an early morning car crash near Linn Creek on Thursday.
Twenty-year-old Chendo Quezada also died Thursday from injuries suffered during the crash.
The Marshalltown Police Department on Saturday released more details about the crash, including some names. The accident occurred when an SUV with six passengers veered from the road and flipped on its side into Linn Creek just before 2 a.m., said Sgt. Rick Bellile, with the Marshalltown Police Department.
The other passengers, Gabriela Nunez-Lasso, 20, Armando Chavarria, 22, and an unnamed 5-year-old girl and 17-year-old girl were also in the SUV when it left the road while heading eastbound on East State Street near 13th Avenue.
Everyone in the SUV at the time of the crash was from Marshalltown.
Emergency personal from Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center and Marshalltown Fire Department treated the crash victims on scene prior to paramedics transporting them to MMSC for further treatment. Three were air lifted to Des Moines hospitals.
Bellile said MMSC staff treated two of the victims locally and subsequent released them.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Office and City of Marshalltown Engineers Office also assisted the MPD with the crash.
Police are still investigating the accident's cause as well as which of the crash victims was the driver and whether the passengers were wearing seatbelts. The investigation is still ongoing.
