WEST BURLINGTON - The Marshalltown Community College men's basketball team wrapped up its season-opening trip to the Southeastern Classic with a 2-0 record following Saturday's 92-64 triumph over Culver-Stockton College's junior varsity.

Sophomore Chris Caird led four Tigers to score in double figures, racking up 22 points. Jamyles Coleman contributed 12 points, Marlon Williams had 11 and Rahiem Holloway 10.

Marshalltown jumped out to a 46-27 lead at the half and coasted to the win.

Terrell Clyburn and Troidell Carter both chipped in with nine points and Matej Delinac finished with eight.

"We came out a little flat, we had a rough time getting started but once we got going the effort was much better," said MCC head coach Brynjar Brynjarsson. "A lot of guys played, a lot of guys scored."

Three of the Tigers' next four games will be played at the Student Activity Center as MCC hosts NIACC on Tuesday night and Kirkwood on Friday. Both games are set to tip off at 7 p.m.
