Thursday

Nicholas Glenn, 10 1/2 W. Grant St., made an initial appearance on a probation revocation charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The probation revocation hearing is set for 3 p.m. on Dec. 10. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

Derek Lee Anderson, of Laurel, made an initial appearance through counsel, Kevin O'Hare, on a serious assault charge. The preliminary hearing was waived. Anderson was released on his own recognizance. A no-contact order was issued for the protected parties. The court ordered that Anderson be photographed and fingerprinted in connection with this case at the Marshalltown Police Department immediately.

Incidents

On Wednesday, Michael Chavarria, 203 Sharon Ave., reported the theft of a Sony in-dash CD player, the title to the vehicle and miscellaneous merchandise from a 1999 Buick Century. Estimated value of loss was $500.

On Wednesday, Lusana Rodrigeuz, 710 Noble St., reported the theft of a BMX bicycle from her residence. Estimated value of loss was $150.

On Wednesday, a person associated with The Perfect Setting, 13 W. Main St. #102, reported the theft of two custom carved ink pens. Estimated value of loss was $130.

On Wednesday, a person associated with Haley's Grocery Store, 501 N. 3rd Ave., reported the theft through bad checks written on a closed account between Oct. 20 and 25 in the amount of $316.64.

On Wednesday, Katherine Wilcox, 2232 Highland Acres Rd., reported hit and run damage to the driver and passenger side rear fender and scratch damage to the passenger side of a 2005 GMC Yukon. Estimated value of damage was $700.

On Monday, an employee with the Marshalltown Public Library, 105 W. Boone St., reported hit and run damage to the book drop box at the library. Estimated value of damage was $1,200.

On Wednesday, Dolphus Coleman, 522 N. 1st St., was cited for harassment third-degree.

Arrests

On Saturday, Daniel Miquel Murphy, 106 W. Church St. Apt. A, was arrested for burglary third-degree.

Accidents

On Saturday, a vehicle driven by Chad Ryan Taylor, of Traer, was eastbound on Highway 30 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway from the south ditch. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Taylor vehicle was estimated at $3,000.

Monday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a special outside fire at 800 E. Nevada St., and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 3120 S. 2nd St., 301 N. 12th Ave., and 109 1/2 W. State St.

Tuesday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a smoke or odor removal at 208 S. 3rd Ave., and seven medical assists with the EMS crew to: 305 Bryngelson Dr., 2510 S. 6th St., 101 NewCastle Rd., 1308 E. Madison St., two calls to 8 W. Lincoln St., and 1108 E. Anson St.

Wednesday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a smoke detector activation-no fire-unintentional at 106 College Dr., a smoke or odor removal at 134 E. Main St., two outside rubbish fires at 1802 S. 7th Ave., and 102 Sharon Ave., and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 500 S. Center St., 1110 E. Anson St., 821 S. 6th St., 1600 S. Center St., and 2908 Lincoln Way.
