Wrestling season is once again upon us, and The Predicament released its rankings for each individual weight class in each of the three classes recently.

Seven area athletes made the top 10 in their respective weights, led by defending Class 2A champion Erik Lux of South Tama.

Lux went 49-3 last year at 160 pounds on his way to the state championship and will begin the season No. 1 at 170.

East Marshall/GMG will have two ranked wrestlers, while West Marshall will begin the season with three and AGWSR also features a ranked grappler.

In Class 2A, Nate Judge will start out as the sixth-ranked wrestler at 285 for EM/GMG. Jay Reisetter went 24-11 last year at 170 and will begin the year No. 7 at 182. He was 0-2 last year at the state tourney.

Kyle Blocker will lead the way for West Marshall this year as he begins the season No. 1 at 138 in Class 1A. His teammates who also will start the season ranked include Tanner Arnold and Dale Hilleman. Arnold was 34-14 last year and will be No. 9 at 152 to begin the year, while Hilleman was 35-16 at 145 last season but starts this year No. 9 at 160.

For AGWSR, Clay Meinders will be No. 9 at 195 Class A.
