Cody Helton has been impressing his teachers at Lenihan Intermediate School this year for his increased participation in classroom activities and his attentiveness.
"He always comes in with a smile and he comes ready to learn," said Crystal Gassman, his math and science teacher and Lenihan. "He puts his best effort all the time."
Helton, 11, is a sixth grader who likes math and reading. He said his grandfather worked at Fisher Controls/Emerson and his father is a currently employee there. He hopes to one day follow in their footsteps at Fisher.

"I want to get good grades because I want to get into a good college and get a good job," Helton said.
Gassman believes his future is bright if he continues to be an "engaged" learner in class.
"He participates in class and show that he want to learn," she said.
