Marshalltown standout wide receiver De'Quan McDowell was presented the Nick Norris Award before the Bobcats' boys basketball game against Fort Dodge at the Roundhouse Friday.
The award is presented to the player who the MHS football coaches and athletic director deem has "contributed most to the team's success through leadership, ability, morale, sportsmanship and/or personal sacrifice for the good of the team" per the MHS football website.
McDowell, a Class 4A Division 3 first-team receiver, finished fourth in the state in receiving yards (1,185), first in receptions (80) and also grabbed nine touchdowns during his senior campaign.
