Roger D. Diehm, 65, of Waterloo, died Saturday at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics from a stroke.
He was born April 28, 1947 in Marshalltown, son of Roger W. and Marlys Paustian Diehm. He married Mary Fulkerson and later divorced. He married Mary Heisler Buehne on October 28, 1989 in Waterloo.
Roger graduated from Reinbeck High School and Universal Trade School, Omaha, Nebraska in 1966. He worked as a truck mechanic, service manager and sales advisor in many truck and auto dealerships throughout the Midwest and Waterloo area. He retired from Waterloo Service Company in 2007.
Survived by: his wife; a son, Joshua D. of Indianola; two daughters, Chris (Brian) Bunz of Reinbeck and Mindy (Vince) Smith of Glidden; 4 grandchildren, Corey Smith, Cassidy Smith, Caden Smith, and Mitchell Bunz; 3 brothers, Dennis (Roxanne) of Marshalltown, Dan (Megan) of Palo and Don (Lori) of Reinbeck; a sister Denae (Dale) Haack of Gladbrook.
Preceded in death by: parents; a son, Matthew D. Diehm; a step daughter, Staci Buehne; a sister in infancy, Diane Kay Diehm.
Service 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Queen of Peace Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and continue for one hour before services at the church on Wednesday.
