Snow and Ice Patrol

December 27, 2012

T-R PHOTO BY MIKE DONAHEY
An employee with the Marshall County Tree Service is shown removing snow from the roof and gutters of the Times-Republican building, 135 W. Main St. while a co-worker looks on Wednesday morning. Snow from the Dec. 19-20 blizzard had built up on the roof edge. Warmer temperatures resulted in melting, and much water dripping on the steps of the building’s south entrance. Colder temperatures overnight resulted in large patches of ice on the steps, endangering customers and T-R employees. The two workers spent several hours clearing away the snow and ice from roof, gutters and steps.
