Bonnie L. Emerson, 67, of Marshalltown died Friday, December 28, 2012, at the Iowa Veterans Home. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 2, 2012, at the Iowa Veterans Home Chapel with Chaplain Angela Doty officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the services. Inurnment will be at the Iowa Veterans Home Cemetery. The Main Street Chapel of the Anderson Funeral Homes have been entrusted with arrangements for Bonnie. Bonnie was born October 20, 1945 in Marshalltown the daughter of James and Hazel (Denner) Borton. She received her education in the Marshalltown schools and in 1960 was married to Robert Timmons and they later divorced. In 1977 Bonnie was united in marriage to Donald Emerson and he preceded her in death in 2009. The things Bonnie loved most were spending time with her children and grandchildren, singing, dancing, listening to music, especially country music, and doing crafts of various kinds.
Bonnie is survived by her three children, Tonja (Brad) Helms of Broomfield, CO, Trent (Tina) Timmons of McDonough, GA, and Melanie ( John) Armstrong of Greenwood, IN. Also surviving are six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three brothers and a sister, Wayne (Karen) Borton, James (Linda) Borton and Doris Strohman all of Marshalltown and Thomas Borton of Virginia Beach, VA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald, infant son, Robert Timmons and brother, Gerald Borton.
