Emergency Food Box gives thanks

January 9, 2013
Jackie Patterson and Ada Brown, Marshalltown , Times-Republican

On behalf of the Emergency Food Box Staff, board and clients we wish each of you a blessed and joyous new year! We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the many individuals, businesses, schools, churches, groups and organizations for their faithful and generous support during the year 2012.

We stand in awe and thanksgiving at the variety of ways in which your care and concern for this ministry was and is expressed. From those organized food drives, the tended gardens which grew fresh produce, the businesses and organizations which provided support in a variety of ways, for gifts through grants or large group donations, and from those many faithful churches and individuals whose donations of food and money came in regularly throughout the year - truly day by day we experienced your gracious giving and compassionate spirit.

Certain times of the year we saw an increase in the number of families who needed food help, other times our numbers remained much the same. In any event your gifts of food and/or money always seem to arrive when most needed. Truly words cannot adequately express our appreciation to this community for its help and support. On behalf of all those individuals who have and will continue to benefit from your "love gifts," we again want to say, many thanks! May God bless you for demonstrating how much you care.
