ST. LOUIS - For the third time this season, Northern Iowa senior guard Jacqui Kalin has been named Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week.
Kalin led the Panthers to a 1-1 record last week as her 25 points against Missouri State resulted in a 23-point win and a 22-point effort came in a three-point loss to Wichita State. She also canned a career-high six 3-pointers against the Bears.
The Panther senior did not just earn the award by scoring lots of points. Kalin also had seven rebounds and a season-high four steals against Wichita State.
Kalin is averaging 18 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game this season.
Aside from winning MVC Player of the Week three times by the league, Kalin also won MVC Player of the Week by College Sports Madness after her performance against Saint Louis.
Kalin and the Panthers (7-9, 2-2) play at Bradley at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
