AMES - Chelsea Poppens scored 18 points and No. 23 Iowa State rallied to defeat Texas Tech 67-52 on Saturday.
Poppens also had nine rebounds, and Hallie Christofferson had 15 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots for the Cyclones (15-5, 6-4 Big 12), who trailed 20-12 just past the midway point of the first half.
Anna Prins added 12 points and Nicole Blaskowsky scored 10 for Iowa State.
Chynna Brown led the Red Raiders (16-6, 6-4) with 18 points and eight rebounds.
UNI 76, Evansville 64
CEDAR FALLS - Jacqui Kalin matched her season-high scoring total with 28 points and 10 rebounds to lead the University of Northern Iowa women's basketball team to a 76-64 victory over Evansville Saturday.
Hannah Schonhardt added a career-best 23 points as eight rebounds as the Panthers improved to 5-4 in the Missouri Valley Conference and 10-11 overall.
Samantha Heck led the Purple Aces (7-13, 5-4) with 23 points, while Mallory Ladd added 13 points and seven boards. Kat Taylor and Taylor Ware scored 10 apiece.
The Panthers face Wichita State on the road Friday at 7:05 p.m.
Creighton 98, Drake 71
DES MOINES - Morgan Reid turned in her third straight double-digit scoring effort but it wasn't enough as the Drake women's basketball team dropped a 98-71 Missouri Valley Conference contest to Creighton at the Knapp Center Saturday.
Reid finished one point shy of a career-high tallying 16 points as the Bulldogs dropped to 7-13 overall and 2-7 in conference play. Kyndal Clark added 13 points and Alyssa Marschner dished out seven assists.
Marissa Janning led the Bluejays (15-4, 8-1) with 22 points off the bench, while Sarah Nelson had 19 points, seven boards and seven assists. McKenzie Fujan scored 20 and Alexis Akin-Otiko had 13.
The Bulldogs head to Illinois State Friday with tip-off at 7:05 p.m.
Drake 74, Indiana St. 71, OT
DES MOINES - Ben Simons drilled a 3-pointer early in overtime and Jordan Clarke followed with a layup to give Drake a cushion, and the Bulldogs held on for a 74-71 victory over Indiana State on Saturday night.
Simons finished with a game-high 21 points, including 4 of 5 baskets from 3-point range. Clarke had 13 points and Richard Carter had 11 for Drake (11-11, 5-6 Missouri Valley).
A basket by Manny Arup brought Indiana State (14-8, 7-4) to within 72-71 with 2:17 left in overtime. After a drought by both teams, Chris Hines iced it for Drake on two free throws with 6 seconds to play.
R.J. Mahurin and Jake Odum each scored 14 points to lead the Sycamores, and Justin Gant scored 11.
