ANKENY - Class 5A No. 5-ranked Ankeny held the Marshalltown girls' basketball team scoreless in the third quarter and continued to pull away for a 60-21 victory in Central Iowa Conference play Thursday.
Jaali Winters and Brittany Hedrick scored 15 points apiece to lead the Hawks (16-4), who claimed this make-up game for their fourth straight win. Blair Silliman and Madi Robson chipped in eight points apiece for the Hawks.
Eisha Oden scored two-thirds of Marshalltown's points, putting in 14 to pace the Bobcats (4-16). Amanda Hughes added a 3-pointer, while Lauren Mazour and Kali Banks both had two points for MHS.
The Bobcats go back out on the road tonight to close out the regular season, visiting sixth-ranked Mason City in CIC Northern Division play. Marshalltown's postseason opener is Feb. 16 at No. 8 Des Moines East.
