Cleo M. Jordan, 95

Cleo Marie Jordan, 95, of 1011 East Anson Street, Marshalltown, died Wednesday morning, February 6, 2013, under the care of the Iowa River Hospice Home. Private graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 9, at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Mitchell Family Funeral Home presiding over arrangements.

The daughter of Harry and Hazel DuBois, Cleo was born in a farm house on March 22, 1917, in Central City, Iowa. Her elementary education was attained in a one-room school house in Jordans Grove, Iowa, and in 1933, she graduated from Central City High School in Central City, Iowa. Upon graduation she worked first for Killians in Cedar Rapids and later as an accountant in Chicago, Illinois. During the 1950's and 60's she acquired skills in the burgeoning days of computers as an IBM key punch operator at the Universal Match Company, St Louis, Missouri.

Following the death of her husband, Richard Jordan in 1976, Cleo moved to Marshalltown where she's resided ever since. She was a Past Senior Regent of the Marshalltown Moose Lodge, was a long time member and volunteer at First Presbyterian Church, and served as a volunteer and Treasurer with the Marshalltown food pantry for over 25 years.

Cleo was preceded in death by her husband Richard "Dick" Jordan, by a half-brother, Ralph (Eleanor) Dubois, a brother, Milan (Irene) DuBois, and her mother and father, Harry and Hazel DuBois. She is survived by two nephews, Major Milan ("Mick") DuBois, U.S. Marine Corps (Retired), Marshalltown and Captain Dennis (Marla) DuBois, U.S. Navy (Retired) of Manassas, Virginia. She is also survived by five great nephews and nieces: Stephanie (Hassan) DuBois-Sawaf of Leesburg, Virginia, John DuBois of Manassas, Virginia, Charles (Beth) DuBois of State Center, Iowa and Sergeant Ross DuBois, U.S. Army Reserve, currently stationed in Afghanistan.
