IOWA CITY - The University of Iowa wrestling team clinched its fifth Big Ten Conference regular season duals title in the last six seasons with a 31-7 win over 13th-ranked Nebraska (10-5, 4-4) on Sunday inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
The No. 2 Hawkeyes (16-1, 8-0) won eight of 10 matches, scoring bonus points in three of the wins. Nick Moore (165 pounds) and Tony Ramos (133) both recorded pins, while Matt McDonough notched a technical fall.
"It's good, it's getting late in the year, we're getting closer to the postseason and we did our jobs," said Iowa coach Tom Brands. "We did some good work. We beat some good teams and we won some good individual matches. Now it's important we take the next step."
Iowa hosts No. 16 Edinboro on Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. for the Hawkeyes' Senior Night.
