TRENTON, Mo. - North Central Missouri led from the outset and held off the Marshalltown Community College women's basketball team for a 78-62 victory Monday night.
MCC climbed back to within five points of the Lady Pirates with 4:30 left in the game but could get no closer.
Mady Van Metre connected on four 3-pointers en route to a season-high 26 points to go with eight rebounds to lead the Tigers (8-15). Shakeria Slade added 11 points and six boards for MCC, which suffered its third straight loss.
The Tigers defeated North Central Missouri, 62-52, on Nov. 14 inside the Student Activity Center.
Marshalltown is back at home Wednesday, hosting Iowa Central (17-6, 8-3) in an ICCAC Division II clash at 5 p.m. The Tritons topped the Tigers 65-55 in their first meeting Dec. 15 in Fort Dodge.
