Andrew Corral never gives up on his learning.

The sixth grader at Lenihan Intermediate School has impressed his teacher, Sue Buchan, for his ability to go the extra mile to understand the work.

"If he is finding he is not understanding a concept, he comes in before school to get help," Buchan said. "It has been such a pleasure to watch Andrew grow into a student in the true sense of the word. Andrew models what taking responsibility for your learning looks like."

Corral said he takes his school work seriously.

"So I can get into college and get a good education and a good job," he said.

Corral loves to draw and would one day love to be a cartoonist.

"I like drawing heroes like Batman," he said.
