Family: My husband Eric and I have been married five years. We have a 1-year old son, Ean.
Pets: Our dog Toby.
Hobbies and interests: My hobbies include spending time with family, fishing, baking, watching movies and taking walks.
Occupation: Assistant Trust Officer at United Bank & Trust in Marshalltown
What that means: My job specifically is to handle the operations and accounting functions in the Trust Department. Our department acts in the capacity of such positions as executor, trustee and financial manager. Basically, I assist the department in helping people and organizations manage their assets and make good decisions about their financial future.
Tenure: 2.5 years.
If I could change jobs I would be a/do: Honestly, I love what I do, but my dream has always been to be a professional singer. I guess singing karaoke with my family will have to do for now.
Books: "The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch. It's interesting to read about his life as a husband, father and professor battling cancer.
Movie: It's hard for me to name a top film because I like most movies, but "The Fox and the Hound," is a childhood favorite.
Foods: My favorite food is anything sweet, which, I guess is why I enjoy baking.
Best part of living here: I love living in Marshalltown because it has a lot to offer. There are many gems to see if you look for them.
Most influential persons: The most influential people in my life have been my parents and my husband. I can't thank them enough for all of the support, advice and encouragement they have given me over the years.
Local involvement: I am a member of New Hope Christian Church, treasurer for the Noon Optimist Club, and a volunteer for the Chamber of Commerce's Total Resource Campaign.
Advice on life: My advice to others would be to work hard, cherish the little things, always try to have fun and not take life too seriously.
