Local pastor deserves compassion

March 13, 2013

Recently, a well-respected pastor was arrested and charged with OWI and failing to stop at a stop sign. What is most disappointing is that the T-R chose to put the notice of the arrest in large, bold print. But, even more disgusting was their choice to also put a picture of this individual as part of the article.

Of course, the charge of OWI is a serious one, but there is no reason why the T-R needs to highlight the arrest of this person who has been a wonderful leader in his church and community. The T-R's actions in this matter are both reprehensible and lacking in compassion. In addition, the man has not even been found guilty of the charges.
