ST. LOUIS - As the Missouri Valley Conference women's tournament gets set to tip-off in the coming days, the league handed out postseason honors Wednesday.
Earning a spot on the all-MVC second team was Drake sophomore guard Kyndal Clark. Clark also was named to all-MVC Defensive Team as well.
Clark led the Bulldogs and was third in the conference in scoring at 14.8 points per game. She also can be found in the top 10 of numerous statistical categories. She is second in steals per game at 2.5, sixth in assists per game at 3.7 and 10th in minutes played per game at 32.6.
Clark, who was named to the all-MVC freshman team last year, has scored 20 or more points in nine games this season, which ranks second behind Northern Iowa senior Jacqui Kalin.
Clark's 73 steals was good for the ninth best effort in school history for a single season. She had a career-high seven steals in the win over Bradley and has recorded at least one steal in 14 straight games.
Drake will begin its run in the Missouri Valley Conference women's tournament against the Missouri State Bears.
That first-round game will tip off at 4:05 p.m. Thursday from Family Arena in St. Charles, Mo.
