All boat registrations must be renewed by April 30 to avoid penalty. Boats must be renewed in the County of the owner's residence and will be valid through April of 2016.
Boats can be renewed in person at the county recorder's office (Marshall Couty Courthouse, second floor, NE corner) during normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, or by mail.
To renew by mail please contact the Recorders office to obtain the correct registration fee. An additional $1 postage fee per boat is required for mail in renewals.
Due to the implementation of a new DNR registration system the following information will be needed for renewals whether registering in person or by mail: Driver's license number, Hull ID number for each boat, Iowa Boat number for each boat, customer telephone number
