In celebration of National Doctors' Day on March 30, Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center will be honoring doctors and mid-level providers for their dedication and commitment to patients.
In appreciation, MMSC has created recognition cards for patients and staff to fill out for their doctors and mid-level providers. These cards are located throughout the hospital, clinics and rehabilitation lobbies. The hospital asks that anyone who would like to share their gratitude for the care they have received from their doctors and/or mid-level providers fill out a recognition card. The cards will then be delivered to each physician and/or mid-level provider on Doctors' Day.
The first Doctors' Day was observed on March 30, 1933, in Winder, Ga., when a wife of a physician sent greeting cards to physicians and decorated the graves of deceased doctors. On Oct. 30, 1990, President George Bush designated March 30 as National Doctors' Day.
