The two friends married on August 3, 1996, at Tanya's home church, Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook, Iowa. They were the third consecutive generation couple in Tanya's family to have met on a blind date. They spent their married life in the Des Moines area, where Tom works for Baker Group. The couple welcomed the addition of two sons, Noah Thomas and Ethan John. Together they enjoyed Iowa State, UNI, and Green Bay Packer sporting events. Tanya was also active in church and spending time with many friends that she often referred to as family. The family and extended family enjoyed several fishing trips to Minnesota and Canada.
Left to cherish and spread Tanya's loving kindness are Tom, Noah and Ethan; as well as her father, John (step-mother, Patricia Ann); brother, Matt (Angie) Clausen; nephews, Taylor, Jacob, Zachary and Jackson; niece, Tori; aunts, Audrey Kuhl and Lee Stonewall; uncle, Haines Clausen; and nine cousins.
