Staff from Marshalltown’s United Bank & Trust are shown at the downtown bank, 29 S. Center St., in front of a giant sculpture of approximately 2,000 canned food items Thursday. From left are Elisa Anderson, Judy Brown, Cathy Dunham, Amanda Rucker and Marcia Molinsky. The display will be taken down and re-assembled as part of the bank’s participation in the upcoming Can-Do 2013 event at the Marshall Town Center April 29 through May 12. MTC has challenged area businesses to compete in sculpture building of 10 feet by 10 feet. The sculptures will be on display for two weeks. During that time MTC is inviting everyone to vote for their favorite sculpture by donating a can of food at the sculpture. All cans will be donated to the Emergency Food Box. The EFB served more than 14,000 individuals in 2011.
