Oscar A. “Al” Tarrence, 90

CEDAR FALLS -Oscar A. "Al" Tarrence, 90, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, April 15, 2013 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

He was born August 9, 1922, in Richland, Iowa, son of Ray and Elzada (Reighard) Tarrence. He married Shirley Boyer on June 21, 1946 in Marshalltown, Iowa.

He graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1941 and was employed with H and H Machine Tool Company as a Tool and Die Maker, retiring in 1995.

Survived by his wife, Shirley; daughter, Cathy Jo Wershay of New Berlin, WI; son, Scot also of New Berlin; two grandchildren, Kimberly and Bradley, both of Milwaukee, WI; sister-in-law, Wilma Rainey of Waterloo; brother-in-law, Clair Devick of Marshalltown; and nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: one sister, Ione Devick.

Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Richardson Funeral Service in Cedar Falls with burial in Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and also for one hour prior to services Saturday.
