Arrests

On Saturday, Daniel Jones, age 22, of Reinbeck, was arrested in Reinbeck for domestic abuse assault. He posted bond and was released.

On April 9, Bryan Leadley, age 26, of Waterloo, was arrested by Black Hawk County authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging him with probation violation. He posted bond and was released.

On April 5, Amanda Luna, age 29, of Dike, was arrested in Dike for operating while intoxicated-first offense. She was released on promise to appear.

On April 4, Joshua Debower, age 19, of Aplington, was arrested by Butler County authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging him with failure to appear. He was released on promise to appear.

On March 29, Shaunski Lawrence, age 20, of Bradenton, Fla., was arrested on Highway 20 on a Hardin County warrant charging him with failure to serve jail sentence. He was released to Hardin County authorities.

On March 29, Travon Montgomery, age 21, of Palmetto, Fla., was arrested on Highway 20 on a Hardin County warrant charging him with failure to serve jail sentence. He was released to Hardin County authorities.

Fernando Enrique Diaz-Bravo, 107 S. 13th St., made an initial appearance on a serious domestic assault charge. The public defender's office was appointed to represent him pending the completion of the request document. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on April 26. Bond is set at $1,000 cash only. The court ordered that if Diaz-Bravo possessed and firearms or ammunition he is to contact the Marshall County Sheriff's Office within 24 hours to make arrangements to surrender them until the conclusion of this case. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Thomas Dean Zimmerman, of Sheldahl, made an initial appearance on a open container charge and a driving under suspension-unpaid fines charge. He pleaded guilty and both charges. On the open container charge the fine was $200 with a $70 surcharge, a $5 county enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $335. The fine on the driving under suspension-unpaid fines charge was $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning May 15 until the debt is completed.

Bhagirath Patel, 2009 S. Center St., made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75. The court condemned the bond and used it for payment of fines with the remainder to be returned to the payee.

Ryan Biensen, 405 E. Boone St. Apt. #6, made an initial appearance on a operating while intoxicated charge, a no insurance charge and a improper brake light charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on May 6. Biensen was released on his own recognizance. The court ordered that he obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days of today's date.
