Kisha Christine Amundson, 204 N. 8th St., made an initial appearance on a warrant for a possession of drug paraphernalia charge and a trespass charge. She pleaded guilty to both charges. On the possession of drug paraphernalia charge the fine was $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $10 DARE surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $83.50 in court costs for a total of $306.25. The fine on the trespass charge was $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $83.50 in court costs for a total of $296.25. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning May 24 until the debt is paid or in lieu of the fine and surcharge she may do 12 hours of community service for each charge plus pay the DARE fee, the law enforcement initiative surcharges and court costs to be completed by Oct. 31.

Jesse Allen Moravec, 915 Stegman Boulevard, made an initial appearance on a serious domestic assault charge and a obstruction of emergency communications charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on May 13. Moravec was released through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office by the end of the work day on Friday. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Michael Trazeek Robinson, 1001 Iowa Ave. West, made an initial appearance on a disorderly conduct charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. He pleaded guilty to both charges. On the disorderly conduct charge the fine was $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75. The fine on the possession of drug paraphernalia charge was $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $10 DARE surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $282.75. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning May 24 until the debt is paid or in lieu of the fine and surcharge he may do 12 hours of community service for each charge plus pay the DARE fee, the law enforcement initiative surcharge and court costs to be completed by Aug. 15.

Arrests

On April 17, Ryan Mark Biensen, 405 E. Boone St. Apt. #6, and the House of Compassion, was arrested for operating while intoxicated-first offense, improper brake light and no insurance.

On April 15, Adam Lee Barger, of State Center, was arrested for serious domestic assault.

Accidents

On Tuesday, a vehicle driven by Jessica Rae Smith, 411 Bromley St., was northbound on Marsh Avenue when it left the traveled portion of the roadway, entered the west ditch, traveled down the ditch until it struck an embankment which catapulted the vehicle end over end several times ejecting the driver and backseat passenger and came to rest on its wheels. Smith, passenger, Stephanie Rae Blue, 307 N. 7th St., and Eric Michael Seymour, 207 E. High St., were all transported to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center with injuries. Damage to the Smith vehicle was estimated at $15,000. The accident is still under investigation.

Incidents

On Wednesday, Melissa Nicholson, of Haverhill, reported hit and run damage to the left rear bumper on a 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan. Estimated value of damage was $500.

On Wednesday, an employee with Walmart, 2802 S. Center St., reported the attempted theft of two TVs valued at $656.

On Monday, Rory Lee Wedgwood, 313 S. 14th Ave., reported the damage to window screens at his residence in a forcible entry attempt. Estimated value of damage was $100.
