The Dallas Center-Grimes girls' golf team takes an unbeaten dual season record and its first-ever Raccoon River Conference championship into the Class 4A Region 2 meet on Monday at Westwood Golf Club in Newton.

The Fillies are led by first-year head coach John Klaessy, a 1989 Marshalltown High School graduate. Dallas Center-Grimes went the course of the season with a 6-0-1 dual meet record under Klaessy, who also was honored as the school's Coach of the Year.

Klaessy's parents still reside in the area, as Susan Klaessy lives in Rhodes and Dick Klaessy is a Marshalltown resident.
