On May 6, Montice Lanell Allen, 3202 S. 12th St. Lot #24, was arrested for contempt for failure to serve jail time.

On Monday, a car driven by Usnije Ljimani, of Le Grand, was eastbound on Highway 30 when it went out of control, entered the median and slightly entered the westbound lanes before returning to the easterly lanes. A car driven by Steven Paul Umbaugh, of Le Grand, was traveling west on Highway 30 when the Ljimani car entered its lane and the brakes were applied. A vehicle driven by Paul James Wayman, of Haverhill, was also westbound in Highway 30 and unable to fully stop when applying his brakes and it collided with the rear of the Umbaugh car. No injuries were reported. Ljimani was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the Ljimani car was estimated at $2,500 while the Umbaugh car received an estimated $3,500 in damage. and the Wayman vehicle an estimated $1,000 in damage.
On May 12, a car driven by Dorothy Ruth Dunham, 202 N. Second Ave. Apt. #30, was exiting a parking spot in the 10 block of North First Avenue when it side-swiped a car driven by Betty Marie Gauch, 2302 Edgebrook Drive, which was passing by. No injuries were reported. Dunham was cited for failure to yield to highway traffic. Damage to the Dunham car was estimated at $2,000 while the Gauch car received an estimated $2,500 in damage.
On May 9, a car driven by Cole Weatherly, of Albion, and a semi driven by Larry Anthony Reeves, of Indianola, were southbound and northbound, respectively, on Marsh Avenue when they side-swiped each other. Weatherly was transported to McFarland Clinic by a private party with possible injuries. Damage to the Weatherly car was estimated at $8,000 while the Reeves semi received an estimated $4,000 in damage.
On May 8, a car driven by Heather Marie Skinner, 2100 200th St., was southbound on Knapp Avenue at the intersection with Main Street Road when it pulled out onto Main Street Road and collided with a car driven by Dan Lee Billman, of State Center, which was traveling east on Main Street. Billman was possibly injured, but not treated or transported. Skinner was cited for failure to yield right of way from stop sign. Damage to the Skinner car was estimated at $2,000 while the Billman car received an estimated $3,000 in damage.

On Wednesday, an employee with K-Mart, 1716 S. Center St., reported the theft of several items of clothing valued at $121.95.
On Tuesday, Jesus Pina, 205 S. Third St., reported slash damage to all four low profile tires on a 2002 Chevy Tahoe while parked at Swifts, 402 N. 10th Ave. Estimated value of damage was $880.
On Monday, Lanny Dean Nuese, 811 Warren St., reported the theft of a Trek 820 mountain bike from his residence. Estimated value of loss was $750.
On Monday, Miguel Padilla Jr., 918 May St., reported the theft of money by deception of a vehicle in the amount of $3,080 which was sent via Western Union.
On Tuesday, Zachary Davis Saxton, of Ames, was arrested for possession of a Schedule I controlled substance-marijuana and simple assault.
On Wednesday, a vehicle driven by Joseph Julio Cipolla, of Bondurant, was stopped at the stop sign on Anson Street at the intersection with 18th Avenue when it attempted to turn left onto 18th Avenue and collided with a motorcycle driven by Duane Ronald Garrett, 805 W. State St., which was obscured from view by a semi in the outside lane that was turning from 18th Avenue onto Anson Street. No injuries were reported. Cipolla was cited for failure to yield right of way. Damage to the Cipolla vehicle was estimated at $1,000 while the Garrett motorcycle received an estimated $1,500 in damage.
On Tuesday, a vehicle driven by Robin Lynn Harkey, 1401 S. Seventh Ave. Apt. #108, was stopped at the stop sign on the Frontage Road northbound when it proceeded north and collided with a car driven by Marcia Rae Mull, 104 Granite St., which was turning from South Center Street onto Nicholas Drive. No injuries were reported. Harkey was cited for failure to obey a stop sign or yield right of way. Damage to the Harkey vehicle was estimated at $500 while the Mull car received an estimated $1,200 in damage.
On Tuesday, a minivan driven by Heather Luzetta Pals, 515 W. Southridge Road., was exiting her driveway when it collided with a legally parked vehicle on the street. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Pals minivan was estimated at $500 while the legally parked vehicle received an estimated $2,000 in damage.
On May 11, a car driven by Dona Lee Smith, 203 1/2 N. Fourth St., was southbound on North Fourth Street and stopped at the intersection with West Main Street when it pulled out to make a left turn and collided with a car driven by Shane Michael Wallander, 1102 W. Main St., which was traveling west on Main Street. No injuries were reported. Smith was cited for failure to obey a stop sign. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $3,000 each.

Russ Gentry Jr., address unknown, made an initial appearance on a robbery-first degree charge, a theft-second degree charge and a going armed with intent charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. May 28. Bond is set at $25,000 cash only.
Blane Steven Kitzman, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a operating while intoxicated-first offense charge and a striking fixtures charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. June 5. Kitzman was released on his own recognizance. The court ordered him to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days of today's date.
Raymond Gene Shogren, address unknown, made an initial appearance on two counts of pre-trial violation. His pre-trial status was revoked. The public defender's office will continue representation. A sentencing hearing is set for 9 a.m. June 3. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.
