BEAMAN - Tyler Lutes struck out 10 in a four-inning no-hitter and the BCLUW baseball team blanked GMG 15-0 on Tuesday night.

Lutes surrendered three walks but no hits in the win, while the Comets (1-0) backed him with 10 runs worth of support in the bottom of the first.

Max Callaway had a two-run single in the first inning and finished with three RBIs for BCLUW. Lane Caster contributed an RBI double during the four-run second.

Mitch Miller and Taylor Sams tacked on singles for the Comets, who were recipients of 14 walks and one hit batsman. Austin Vaughn took the loss for GMG.

GMG opens Iowa Star Conference play at home tonight against Don Bosco. BCLUW plays Thursday at Aplington-Parkersburg.

West Marshall 3, Colo-NESCO 2

STATE CENTER - Jared Johnson drove in Nolan Sinning with a walk-off double in the bottom of the seventh inning, lifting West Marshall to a 3-2 victory in Tuesday's make-up of Monday's originally scheduled season opener.

Sinning scored two of the Trojans' three runs, reaching base with a single and two walks. He also stole two bases.

West Marshall pitcher Jared Riemenschneider went the distance on the mound, allowing five hits and two runs - none earned - with a walk and eight strikeouts. The Trojans play again Thursday at Hudson.

Brandyn Niemeyer took the loss in relief of J.T. Adams for Colo-NESCO, which scored both of its runs in the sixth.
