TAMA - Run-scoring doubles from Kassidy Rewoldt and April Skartvedt helped the South Hardin softball team score a 5-3 victory over South Tama in Friday's NICL West Division opener for both teams.
Alaina Lake worked around 10 hits for South Tama to get the win for the Tigers (2-0, 1-0).
STC pitcher Sam Holtz surrendered just five hits in the loss, striking out three and walking three.
Riley Craun hit her first career home run, a solo shot in the fifth inning as South Tama (1-2, 0-1) tried to rally back from a 5-0 deficit.
Hailee Weiss had three hits for STC, and Jade Rohach had a triple among her two hits and drove in three runs.
