MHS girls’ soccer match moved to Cedar Rapids

The Marshalltown girls' soccer team's postseason opener was postponed for a second consecutive day, and this time it was moved as well.

The Bobcats will meet Waterloo East in their Class 3A Region 1 semifinal tonight at 5 p.m. at Kingston Stadium in Cedar Rapids due to the all-weather playing surface at that site. Another oft-postponed contest - Cedar Falls against Cedar Rapids Jefferson - will follow at approximately 7 p.m.

Marshalltown (9-7) and Waterloo East (0-13-1) were originally scheduled to meet on Wednesday at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex in Cedar Falls, but that meeting was bumped back to Thursday. Another day of rain and deteriorating playing conditions forced the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union to make a site change as well.

The regional finals for all three classes are scheduled for Monday.
