LE GRAND - The West Marshall offense continued to struggle Saturday at the East Marshall Mustang Classic Tournament.
The Trojans scored just four runs in three games, lost all three contests and dropped to 1-13 on the season. West Marshall has lost 11 straight games.
The Trojans began the day with a narrow 4-3 loss to Aplington-Parkersburg and then lost a 5-1 decision to Marion. Their day ended with a 5-0 defeat against Albia.

West Marshall senior McKenna Hotopp had one hit in all three games at the East Marshall Mustang Classic Tournament on Saturday. West Marshall lost all three games though and is now 1-13 on the season.
In the loss to A-P, Karis Gibbs had two hits at the plate, while Georgia Porter had one hit, one run and one RBI.
Also going 1-for-3 at the dish was McKenna Hotopp and Kallie Malloy.
Hotopp scored a run and Malloy had an RBI. Malloy also took the loss in the circle as she went the distance and struck out three.
The Trojans collected six hits against Marion. Nicole Riemenschneider had two of them, while Heather Skinner homered. Hotopp, Porter and Sadie Simatovich each had a hit.
The loss in the circle went to Rachel Freland, who allowed seven hits and struck out three.
The final game of the day came against Albia, where the Trojans were blanked on the scoreboard.
Porter did finish 3-for-3 at the plate, while Hotopp went 1-for-3.
Malloy started the game and took the loss as she fanned three in three innings. Freland came on in relief and struck out four in her three innings of work.
Albia was led at the plate by Sydney Weldon, who hit two homers. She nailed the scoreboard in right field with her first home run and then recorded an inside-the-park home run to finalize the scoring.
Weldon came into the weekend hitting .556 at the dish.
West Marshall will travel to North Iowa Cedar League rival Grundy Center on Monday.
The Trojans and Spartans will play their varsity game at around 8 p.m.
South Tama splits two at Vinton-Shellsburg tourney
VINTON - The South Tama County softball team went 1-1 at the Vinton-Shellsburg Tournament on Saturday, losing 6-0 to the hosts and beating Belle Plaine 12-10.
In the win over Belle Plaine, Jade Rohach had four hits, four RBIs and scored three runs, while Riley Craun and Tori Applegate each had three hits.
Appelgate scored three times as well, and Craun doubled twice and scored two runs. Dani Stubbs also finished with two RBIs.
Samantha Holtz earned the win in the circle despite giving up nine hits.
Holtz fanned two, walked five, hit a batter but got the complete-game victory.
The Trojans only recorded two hits against Vinton-Shellsburg in the loss.
Kallie Hala went the distance in the circle and allowed six walks and six hits and fanned six.
South Tama (5-7) will next host former conference rival Newton in a JV/varsity doubleheader on Monday.
The varsity game is scheduled to begin around 7:45 p.m.
