Jennifer Yakel, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a violation of pre-trial release. Jeffrey Hazen will continue representation with this case. An arraignment hearing is set for 1 p.m. June 11. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

Leopoldo Salvador Reyes, 409 N. 15th Ave., made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge and a no insurance charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. June 26.

Lance Walker, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree charge, a public urination charge, a public intoxication charge and a violation of pre-trial release charge. On the theft-third degree, public urination and public intoxication charges the court appointed the public defender's office to represent him. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. June 17. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. Upon release, the court ordered that Walker obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court 60 days following his release. The court further ordered, on these charges, that Walker be photographed and fingerprinted. On the violation of pre-trial release, Cynthia Weber-Blair will continue representation. An arraignment hearing is set for 1 p.m. June 11. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

Jesse Ceniceros, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, a no insurance charge and a damage to a motor vehicle charge. He pleaded guilty to all charges. On the driving under suspension charge the fine was $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $87 in court costs for a total of $424.50. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning July 5 until the debt is paid or in lieu of the fine and surcharge he may do 46 hours of community service plus pay the court costs to be completed by Dec. 15. The fine on the damage to a motor vehicle was $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $87 in court costs for a total of $174.75. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning July 5 until the debt is paid or in lieu of the fine and surcharge he may do 12 hours of community service plus pay the court costs to be completed by Dec. 15. On the no insurance charge the fine was $500 with a $175 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $735. The court allowed for $50 monthly installment payments beginning July 5 until the debt is paid.

De Tu Nu, address unknown, made an initial appearance through an interpreter on a operating while intoxicated charge, a driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway charge and a leaving the scene of a property damage accident charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. June 26. De Tu Nu was released on his own recognizance. The court ordered him to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days of today's date.

Kevin Young, 9 E. Grant St. Apt. #1, made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. John Haney will continue representation. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by Young's parole officer as his calendar permits. Young is being held without bond.

Joshua Bachman, 407 Summit St., made an initial appearance on a harassment-third degree charge. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. July 9 in Magistrate Court. The court appointed Bethany Currie to represent Bachman in is case. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Roeles Cavazos, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge and a disorderly conduct charge. He pleaded guilty to both charges and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge on each and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75 for each charge. The court allowed monthly installment payments of $50 beginning July 5 until the debts are paid or in lieu of the fines and surcharges he may do 12 hours of community service for each charge plus pay the court costs to be completed by Dec. 15.

LaShawn Scates, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a possession of a Schedule I controlled substance-marijuana. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. June 26. Scates was released on his own recognizance. A substance abuse evaluation has been completed and a plan is in place.

Darrell Loy Allen Jr., address unknown, made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree charge due to prior theft convictions. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. June 26. Allen was released on his own recognizance. The court ordered that he be photographed and fingerprinted by the end of work today.

Incidents

On June 5, Juana Ramirez, 527 N. First St., reported the theft of cash in the amount of $548.

On June 5, Leigha Irene Welch, of Toledo, reported the theft of a car stereo, amplifier and subwoofers. Estimated value of loss was $500.

On June 6, Connie Fields, 105 N. Center St. Apt. #5, reported the theft of a nebulizer from her residence. Estimated value of loss was $300.

Accidents

On June 4, a pickup driven by Theodore Wayne Krough, of Clemons, was southbound on South Center Street when it went through a red light at the intersection with Berle Road and collided with a small bus driven by Jo Ellyn Reinertson, 1108 W. Iowa Ave. #20, which was turning onto Center Street northbound from Berle Road. Krough was transported to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center with injuries. Krough was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device. Damage to the Krough pickup was estimated at $4,000 while the Reinertson bus received an estimated $3,000 in damage.

Citations

On June 6, Billie Leann Welch, of Nevada, was cited for operating while intoxicated-third offense.

Arrests

On June 6, Dean Wesley Picotte, 1501 Summit St., was arrested for disorderly conduct and public intoxication-enhanced.

On June 6, Arlene Goodman Jamell, 303 S. Fourth Ave., was arrested for disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

On June 6, Lance Mandell Walker, address unknown, was arrested for public urination, public intoxication and theft-third degree-enhanced.
