Vanessa Lee Caracoza, 509 May St., made an initial appearance on a willful injury charge and a domestic abuse assault charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. June 21. The court ordered that if she owned or possessed any firearms or ammunition Caracoza is to make arrangements within 24 hours with the Marshall County Sheriff's Office to surrender them. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only. No-contact orders were issued for the protected parties.

Ivan Jiminez Rodriguez, 212 Pleasantview Road, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, a no driver's license charge and a no insurance charge. He pleaded guilty to all charges. On the driving under suspension charge the fine was $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning July 11 until the debt is paid or in lieu of the fine and surcharge he may do 46 hours of community service plus pay the court costs to be completed by Dec. 15. The fine on the no driver's license charge was $200 with a $70 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $330. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning July 11 until the debt is paid. On the no insurance charge the fine was $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The court allowed for the same monthly payment plan.

Kinsey Panky Gordon, 117 N. First St., made an initial appearance on a forgery charge and a possession of a Schedule II controlled substance-meth charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. June 21. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety on the forgery charge and $1,000 cash or surety on the possession charge. The court ordered that upon his release Gordon would have 60 days to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court.

Lolita Lina Good, 305 N. 15th Ave., made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The contempt hearing is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. June 21. The court ordered that if she owned or possessed any firearms or ammunition Good is to make arrangements within 24 hours with the Marshall County Sheriff's Office to surrender them. Good was released on her own recognizance. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Jay Sundvold, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a violation of pre-trial release charge. A plea hearing is set for 2:30 p.m. today. Marshon Dubbert will continue representation in this case. The bond is $1,000 cash or surety.

Asam Wienis, 202 S. Third Ave. Apt. #4, made an initial appearance on a failure to appear in Magistrate Court for a contempt hearing charge. Attorney Merrill Swartz was appointed to handle his case. The contempt hearing is rescheduled for 9 a.m. July 15. Wienis was released on his own recognizance.

Billie Leann Welch, of Nevada, made an initial appearance on a operating while intoxicated-third offense charge, a driving under suspension charge and a violation of a one-way traffic designation charge. Welch will hire her own attorney. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. July 1. Welch was released on her own recognizance. The court ordered her to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days of today's date.

Victoria Marie Meeks, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a dog at large charge. She pleaded guilty and was fined $25 with a $8.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $93.75, due within 30 days of June 11.

Miguel Angel Sanchez-Sanchez, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a operating while intoxicated-first offense charge, a no insurance charge and a open container charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. July 3. Sanchez-Sanchez was released on his own recognizance. The court ordered that he obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days of today's date.

Cory Meling, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a no driver's license charge and a failure to obey a stop sign charge. He pleaded guilty to both charges. On the no driver's license charge the fine was $200 with a $70 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $330. The fine on the failure to obey a stop sign charge was $100 with a $35 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $195. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning July 11 until the debts are paid.

Don Ramirez, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a providing false identity information charge and a contempt of court charge. He pleaded guilty to the providing a false identity information charge and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning July 11 until the debt is paid. On the contempt charge, the court appointed Jennifer Meyer to represent him. The contempt hearing is set for 11 a.m. Aug. 14. Ramirez was released on his own recognizance.

Armando Perez-Galvez, 8 W. Nevada St., made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a speeding charge. He pleaded guilty to both charges. On the driving under suspension charge the fine was $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning July 11 until the debt is paid. The fine on the speeding charge was $80 with a $28 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $168, due within 30 days of today's date.

Michael McDowell, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. He pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days of today's date.

Arrests

On Monday, Cindy Lee Eggers, of Belle Plaine, was arrested for probation revocation.

On Monday, Derek James Slocum, 312 Washington St., was arrested for theft-fifth degree and on a warrant for violation of pre-trial release.

On June 7, Dennis Michael Plaehn, 2620 Ridge Road, was arrested for aggravated domestic assault.

On June 6, Jennifer Charmaine Yakel, 18 E. Berle St., and Homeless, was arrested for violation of pre-trial release.

Accidents

On Monday, a vehicle driven by Serena Lea Jefferson, of Toledo, was northbound on Highway 330 when it struck a deer that entered the travel portion of the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Jefferson vehicle was estimated $2,000.

Accidents

On Tuesday, a car driven by Alejandra Fonseca, 1704 Edgebrook Drive Apt. #1, was southbound on South 12th Avenue when it collided with the rear of a car driven by Blair Elizabeth Ulery, of Le Grand, which was stopped awaiting to turn left onto South Street. Fonseca was transported privately to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center with possible injuries. Fonseca was cited for failure to stop within an assured, clear distance and no insurance-accident. Damage to the Fonseca car was estimated at $10,000 while the Ulery car received an estimated $5,000 in damage.
